Description:

Kupon was a Russian geostationary communications spacecraft that was intended to facilitate banking transactions in Russia and elsewhere, as part of a fleet of the "Bankir" system. The spacecraft carried enough transponders to handle 10,000 transactions simultaneously. The on-board computer failed after the spacecraft achieved orbit rendering it inoperable.
